This summer hasn’t given us too many rainy days that we have had to deal with, but we have found ourselves inside quite a bit due to extremely hot weather. With temps up in the 100′s, my girls are trying their hardest to find things to do inside. Even with their enormous imaginations they do still get bored. Watching movies together seems to be their alternate activity of choice these days, and finding family friendly movies seems to be getting harder and harder these days. Redbox and Phase 4 Films has a cure for those summer rainy (or extremely hot) days! This June through August, Redbox and Phase 4 Films are launching the “Summer Family Fun” campaign to help keep the entire family entertained – rain or shine! The campaign will include:
The availability of 8 family-friendly DVD’s at Redbox locations nationwide. Films include animated Rock Stars featuring Jane Lynch and Smitty starring Mira Sorvino and Peter Fonda
A boatload of fantastic sweepstakes, including one of three grand-prize family vacations valued at $10,000 – $15,000! Prizes include a seven-day vacation for four to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and round-trip tickets for four to Toronto and the chance for a walk-on role on Nick Jr.’s Dino Dan show
Our family was still happy to receive a Phase 4 Rainy Day S-O-S Kit to help keep us entertained no matter what the weather- which remains extremely hot!!
Including all eight Summer Family Fun movie releases from Phase 4 Films, snacks, a deck of cards, a fleece blanket, and a DIY entertainment tip sheet, we were ready for all sorts of rainy day activities and movie-watching to take place.
A pack of cards, perfect for games and card castle making- my girls are still kind of young, but they love playing matching games- it makes the time pass super faast for them, I think they could play all day!!
The fleece blanket is perfect for snuggling up on the couch, or making tents, another favorite hobby of my girls!!

My girls really enjoyed the movies that we have had the chance to watch, They all were rated G or PG- I did notice some language in Freddie Frogface, which we chose not to continue watching because of that, but all the others so far have been appropriate for our girls- Space Dogs was their fav so far!!
Our summer will be filled with fun no matter the weather!!
