Summer vacation started last month for us, I was excited to get a break from school work
: ) My daughter on the other hand, just can’t get enough of it!! She loves to learn, what can I say. To get a little break from the day to day work books that she does, it is nice to have a few fun activities around that help her learn new things. We were really excited to be able to try out the Sentence Buildings from Learning Resources. Parts of speech was something that I hadn’t started to cover with my daughter just yet, but will definitely be on the curriculum for next year. With this game from Learning Resources, we can get a jump start on her language arts while she is having fun.
Sentence Buildings allows your child to create sentence cities with 9 parts of speech buildings and over 300 double sided cards. The parts of speech include nouns, verbs, pronouns, conjunctions, articles, prepositions, adverbs, and punctuations, You can use as any or few buildings as your child can handle. The instruction booklet has 5 different suggested activities to help you get started with your little ones. My oldest daughter loved trying to make sentences with all the different parts of speech. She loved switching them around and making silly sentences. Both my girls enjoyed simply separating them into their proper places. It definitely is a game for first graders and up. I stepped away for a few minutes and my 3 year old had all 300 pieces spread over the entire playroom!!! Needless to say she won’t be playing Sentence Buildings for a while unless I take all the cards out first!! But I must say after only using this one time, my 5 year old can tell me what a noun is and name tons of examples of them!! Can’t wait to see what she can learn after months of use!!
Learning Resources is offering 1 Sentence Buildings game to 1 viewer!! Just check out the Rafflecopter below for more information!!
