OK, I’m sold! I took this baby out for a test run- all day. Of course my daughter fell asleep right away! I have to admit, I was a little concerned her head was going to be in her lap like with the other seats I have. But her head was not in her lap at all, it rested nicely against the headrest. I was in some heavy traffic- stop and go, slammed on the brakes a few times and her head definitely fell forward, but that would happen with any seat. I am so pleased with this seat! It is so soft and comfortable! And number one- Safety is 1st. It was super easy to install, after reading the instruction manual, it took 5 minutes, literally. I started installation at 8:30 am and was completely finished at 8:35am. All that in a two door car! So if you have a bigger car, it probably will take less time than that.
seriously, look how comfortable this seat looks! This awesome car seat is rear facing 5-40 pounds and 40 inches!. My 3 year old isn’t even 40 pounds, technically, I could still rear face her in this seat! Now, the American Academy of Pediatrics is encouraging parents to leave their babies rear facing as long as possible, so this would be the perfect seat to do that in! Not many car seats out there offer that option! Forward facing is for babies 22-50 pounds, 34 to 45 inches AND at LEAST 1 year old! Please make sure to follow all instructions regarding installation- no matter how many you’ve installed! I strongly recommend having your car seat inspected by a certified technician. We have been taking our car seats to a local highway patrol. I think the only thing I would change about this seat would be for the seat to have strap covers, definitely not a huge deal since you can pick up a pack for a couple of dollars pretty much anywhere. The best features of the Safety 1st Complete Air SE Convertible Carseat- in my opinion- The Air Protect Technology- 1st and foremost! The Quick Fit harness system that allows you to adjust strap height without completely having to re-thread the straps is definitely a selling point as well- another safety feature! Who knows if your really rethreading them correctly. And the extended rear facing feature- up to 40 pounds and 40 inches! I haven’t heard of any other car seat in America that can offer that! The only downside that I noticed was that it doesn’t convert into a belt positioning booster, but the fact that it lets you rear face your baby longer, that kind of cancels that out to me. I definitely recommend this car seat if you are expecting a baby, or upgrading to a new seat. I know you will be completely satisfied as I am with this seat from Safety 1st! My girls love it to, and that’s almost as important as the safety features! Who wants a cranky, uncomfortable kid on a long trip!
