Safety 1st Complete Air SE Convertible Car Seat- Part 1

completeairse1.jpgI’ve been  promising this review and am super excited to finally share it with you.  There are so many car seats out there, it really is hard to choose which one.   You want something that’s cute, but most important you want it to be safe.  I personally am a huge fan of Safety 1st.  Both of my girls have Safety 1st car seats the Alpha Omega Elites.  They are cute and comfortable, but what I loved about them was they had almost the same Consumer Report ratings as another well known company and were in the top three best pick.  Personally I love them.  My only issue with the Alpha Omega is that my baby’s head falls in her lap when she is asleep, fixed with cushioned strap covers.  One of my friends saw the Alpha and called it a Cadillac.  Well, if it’s a Cadillac then the Complete Air SE  is the Range Rover!! Baby Gear with style!!We received the Complete Air SE seat for review.  I chose this one because I loved the sleek look and stylish design of embroidered pattern along the seat.  The Complete Air range of carseats have the revolutionary Air Protect Side Impact Technology.  It protects and cushions the head and reduces the force of impact in a collision through the release of air.  You can actually feel it when you press on the padding.  Side impact crashes are among the deadliest crashes involving children and account for 1 in 3 child crash fatalities.  Most all were caused by head trauma.  The padded headrest is super deep, it completely covers the sides of both of my girls head.  Standing from the side I can’t see their heads at all, which to me means a lot more protection.  I was kind of worry they might feel a little clostraphobic in it, but they don’t mind it at all.  The almost pillow soft headrest and seat are extremely comfortable, I don’t think they will have any problems sleeping while on those long trips this summer.  The harness system is Quick Fit- another excellent feature that I love on my Alpha Omega as well.  No undoing the straps to raise the shoulder height, just squeeze and raise or lower.  Now either of my daughters can use this car seat, the three year old has called dibs, but it’s no problem for us to go from child to child with the Quick Fit.review-014-complete-air-out-of-box.jpgWhen we took it out of the box all we had to do was snap on th cup holder and raise the harness strap and it was ready for forward facing installation.  The seat is super light, I don’t see it being a problem to install at all.  The girls have taken turns trying it out already and are excited to have their new Complete Air SE.  Keep posted for part 2- Installation and on the road- will L’s head be in her lap or will it be ok?  We’ll find out soon! In the meantime take a look at the video on side impact collisions here.  While your there take a peak at all their baby gear with Air Protect, more reviews to come!!
