I am certainly all for baby wearing. With so many different types of infant carriers out there, it is often a difficult job finding one that suits you best. I have pouches and slings, but I wanted something a little different this time. That’s when my search brought me to Kokopax. When I thought of framed carriers, three words always came to mind: bulky, uncomfortable, and heavy. When ever I saw people using framed carriers I thought they were crazy! Why in the world would someone want to carry that around all day, it can’t be comfortable, and how can they even see their baby! Well, I was sent an Original Carrier from Kokopax for review in the adorable buds pattern, and it wasn’t anything like I expected. It almost looks like a travel mini highchair- but way more stylish. It was super lightweight, the frame is made of anodized aluminum- weighing in at 2.7 pounds. Comfortable, yes- made of 100% cotton canvas, padded waist support and straps, and the seat is super comfortable for baby as well.
I love that it has a 5 point harness system, almost like a carseat or stroller. I wasn’t worried that my baby was going to fall out at all. That was another thing, I have always wondered how these types of carriers work, and is it safe for my baby, especially with all of the infant carrier recalls lately, its nice to have one that you feel your baby is comfortable, safe and secure in. This type of carrier is safe for babies from 6 months to 2 years- or 35 pounds. It was really easy to use. You place the carrier on the ground, load in baby and secure, pick it up, tighten and go. Its that easy. Kokopax carriers are perfect for a trip to the park, mall, hikes, or just carrying your baby around while your cooking or doing dishes. I think the Kokopax is the perfect carrier if you have planned a family vacation to a theme park or zoo. Your baby sits high enough up so they see everything. You won’t have to pack that bulky stroller, or if your like me with two little ones, you can have one in the stroller and one on your back, so they aren’t trying to run off every 5 minutes. Kokopax carriers even fit in the overhead compartment of airplanes. I think Kokopax really thought of everything with this great carrier- it even has a ring for toys, and ties for the pax protector (also available) to keep your teething darling from drooling all over it (or spitting up on it). If you are a style conscious mom- I know you won’t find a more stylish framed carrier around. But if you just have to have the earthy, organic look, you can get that too.
