My girls love watching movies, and let’s face it, it can be pretty pricey these days to take the family out to watch a movie. This time of year, the rain starts coming down and I hate taking all of us out, just to get soaked and irritable. Sometimes it is nice just to all snuggle up on the sofa and watch a good flick with the fam. I am very cautious as to what I let my girls watch, usually it involves all cartoons, and occasionally a non animated classic, so I was a bit worried when offered to review Horrid Henry The Movie. The plot involves Henry, played by Theo Stevenson, who fails to turn in his homework, which we quickly figure out is a reoccurig habit for him. His actions and that of several other students inadvertently cause a series of events that threaten the schools closure. Without giving away any spoilers, it is a fun, light hearted, cheeky movie, with quite a few fun rap parodies from young Henry (that were quite good I must say), lots of fun music, and dancing. Henry and his arch nemesis Moody Margaret team up to try to save the school and have alot of fun doing it. I think it is a pretty great movie, but maybe my girls were a bit young for it. I didn’t see anything that I would have termed inappropriate in it, just a little rude humor and gross scenes with boogers and other things you’d expect from spirited little boys. I actually enjoyed watching the movie with my girls (suprise : ) The movie is rated PG and stars Theo Stevenson as Henry, Anjelica Houston as Miss Battle-Axe, and Parminder Nagra as Miss Lovely. Running Time is 93 minutes. So go head over to Walmart, grab some snacks, popcorn, and sodas snuggle up on the sofa and enjoy a great family fun movie with Horrid Henry The Movie!! Tomorrow March 12, 2013, the limited edition DVD will be available exclusively at Walmart stores in the U.S. and it comes with an awesome non-toxic, upholstery-friendly “slime pack” !! My girls LOVE playing with the slime- who would have thought it???
