I know this happens to me all the time and I am a total germaphobe: Some stranger walks up to your baby and says how cute she is, and either touches or kisses her hands, which end up in her mouth at some point. As a nurse, I know how easily it is to spread germs, and most of the illnesses your baby gets are spread by contact from one person to another and caused because people just don’t wash their hands like they should. Winter is almost here and it is time to start taking steps to fight the dry skin that comes with it. I thought as a nurse I washed my hands alot, but after I had my baby I think I must wash my hands about a hundred times a day. Now, its definitely starting to take a toll on my skin. I received Gloves in a Bottle three days ago and already I can tell a difference. My knuckles had begun to crack and between my fingers were very dry even after applying lotion. But since I started using Gloves in a Bottle, my skin is so much softer, and the cracks are gone. This baby gear is a must have for any parent. I have a new piece of baby gear for you!!! The Baby Light and Clip was created by new mom, Laurie, who struggling to trim her baby’s nails, and after doing internet research wondered, Why doesn’t someone make a nail clipper with a light on it so we can see our baby’s tiny nails in the dark while they are sleeping? I think it’s brilliant. I received mine in the mail yesterday, just in time, my daughters nails needed clipping badly, and she is a very active 11 month old. So clipping her nails while she is awake is almost impossible, and she rarely naps for long. So I thought I’d give it a try, what could it hurt? (more…)

After the death of two infants, the CPSC has issued a recall of 1million cribs. The Simplicity brand cribs, manufactered in China (shocker) have an apparent defect in the drop side causing the consumers to be able to install it upside down, which causes the hardware to weaken and creates a gap big enough for infants to become trapped.
