I thought boys were the ones that were rough and tough, always getting bumps and bruises. My two girls seem to always be getting hurt somehow! Bumps and bruises, scrapes and bites. Well, Krissy McCoy knew all to well that her then 2 year old son would never let her keep an ice pack on his eye following surgery, so she had to be a little creative. He loved his fleece blankets! So she did the only thing she could think of and brilliantly sewed a pouch into a blanket to hide the ice pack for him! After seeing how well her creation worked she decided to share with the world her design! It is perfect for all the little bumps and bruises your little one might get. Boo Boo Blankies
She loves cuddling up to her soft fleece blanket even if she isn’t hurt. Boo Boo Blankies also work with Close to My Heart, a charitable project that Krissy McCoy founded to help children and families who suffer from serious conditions such as leukemia and cancer. Right now they are sponsoring AMCSI, which is a support group for children and families with Arthrogryposis and the Amelia Center’s Baby Steps Walk through Children’s Hospital. Close to her heart indeed! Her nephew suffers from Arthrogryposis, a condition that affects the joints and bones and often requires many painful procedures to treat. $1 of each blanket sales will go to the Close to My Heart Project. Her children even started making bracelets and bookmarks to send all of the proceeds to these charities.
